Caesarean sections, or C sections, are performed for a variety of reasons, the vast majority of which should be for medical necessity. When a C section is planned in advance (for things like pre-eclamptic symptoms or uncontrolled gestational diabetes) many things can be done to make the birth more enjoyable and provide more benefits to mother and baby.
